Highway Cycles set to launch first Community Bike Skills session

Next week, Highway Cycles will launch their premier Community Bike Skills session, leading the 1st Hertford Jubilee Cub Pack on a hands-on, fun-packed session all about bikes, adventure, and the freedom of riding.

The Community Bike Skills practical sessions are led by Highway Cycles’ expert team and aim to teach mechanical skills, promote confidence, independence, and adventure. The team strongly believe that learning to ride and care for a bike is a life skill, opening up a world of freedom and fun.

During the session, the Hertford Cubs will explore everything from essential safety checks and bike maintenance to understanding how gears and brakes work, the different types of bikes and their uses, and even outdoor riding tips in our car park. The session will be tailored to the Cubs and will also cover important topics like hydration, nutrition, and the many health and environmental benefits of cycling.

Adam Simmons, General Manager for Highway Cycles, said: “At Highway Cycles, we believe in giving back to the local community through engaging, empowering experiences like this. This session not only helps young people feel more confident around bikes, it also supports the Cub’s journey towards the Cyclist Activity Badge, and that’s something we’re proud to be part of.”

He added: “If you’re a local school, youth group, or community organisation, we’d love to welcome you. Our interactive sessions are tailored to your needs and are ideal for promoting physical activity, independence, and road safety in an engaging and positive way. We can’t wait to welcome the Cubs and hope they leave inspired, skilled, and ready to ride.”
