Highway Cycles- a year of achievements

What a whirlwind 2023 has been at Highway Cycles. With the opening of our new store in Bishop’s Stortford, we have never had a busier year. We are so proud of what the team has achieved and even more proud to have helped all our happy customers

2023 has been a massive year for Highway Cycles, with the opening of a new store, the launch of Re-cycles, and a milestone 3,000 bike repairs.

What a busy, but amazing year we have had.

In August, we opened our doors on Bishop’s Stortford High Street, and were warmly welcomed by many local cycling groups and local, who had been travelling further afield for cycling accessories, and felt their prayers had been answered.

In November, Highway Cycles launched its “Re-cycles” initiative, with a collection of fully serviced, warrantied and ready to ride pre-loved now in store, and it also allows customers the opportunity to trade in old models, in return for store credit.

On top of this, the team supplied 500 new bikes, and undertook 3,000 repairs, a figure that has broken previous store records.

Of the 500 bike sales, the Trek Marlin 4 was a customer top choice, and we aren’t surprised. The Marlin 4 is designed to be tailored to its rider’s needs, whilst it’s a great entry mountain bike, it’s also perfectly suited to the daily commute.

In second sales place was the wonderful Frog range. We are huge advocates for getting youngsters impassioned with cycling, and we have a range of lightweight starter bikes for budding learners. Our team loves families dropping in and can happily guide you with your child’s safety accessories, including helmets.

George Corbett, Digital Retail Manager, said: “What a whirlwind 2023 has been at Highway Cycles. With the opening of our new store in Bishop’s Stortford, we have never had a busier year. We are so proud of what the team has achieved and even more proud to have helped all our happy customers either find a new bike, or one of the staggering 3000 repairs or services we have completed, to keep older bikes on the road or trails.”

“We cannot wait to welcome you in 2024, and we have so much more we would like to achieve and share with you all. We’re on a bike powered, active travel journey here at Highway, and we are just getting started! Here’s to 2024!”

As a local cycling hub, Highway Cycles couldn’t have achieved such a remarkable year, without its loyal customers.

A big thank you, to each and every one of you.

The Highway Cycles team.

Firstly, I would say that the kids liked it even more than I did, if that’s possible. It perfectly transported my two children. They had a fantastic view, were secure with the perimeter bar, and were able to chat to me throughout our rides, so it was a great bonding experience for us.

Pedalling Perseverance

As a council, we want to do everything we can to promote cycling to everyone, and making it an inclusive and everyday activity. When we left France, there was a notable difference in attitudes, there were an abundance of cycle lanes and signage, and the drivers were respectful to cyclists.
